We created the ‘world’s largest’ square sausage slice to celebrate National Square Sausage Day!

At We hae meat, we produce over 21 million square sausage slices every year, but we’ve never made one quite like this…

We have been busy preparing for the world’s first National Square Sausage Day we are very excited to reveal that we have created what we believe to be the world’s largest square sausage slice!

The enormous slice is 25 times bigger than one of our regular square sausage slices, at 30cm x 40cm and weighing in at 2.275kg. We partnered with The Breadwinner Bakery who played a supporting ‘roll’ by producing a gigantic morning roll to fit the enormous square sausage slice.

We were also thrilled to be joined by P4 and P5 pupils Jamie, Daisy and Leo from Dailly Primary School who lent helping hands for the finishing touches, adding dollops of tomato ketchup and brown sauce!

We are inviting families around Scotland to join us in today’s festivities by enjoying a square sausage meal. As well as donating square sausage lunches to the Dailly Community Pantry and all the students and staff at Dailly Primary School to celebrate National Square Sausage Day, we are sharing recipes and tips on the best ways to cook and serve a slice over on Instagram and Facebook. 

So whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, join us today, Monday 25 March, to raise a fork in honour of Scotland’s delicacy, the square sausage slice.
