‘We hae meat’ Expands Reach with Sainsbury's Launch

‘We hae meat’, the popular Scottish family butchers, is thrilled to announce the launch of a selected range of their products in Sainsbury's Scottish stores from this September. This exciting partnership marks a significant milestone for the brand, making its high-quality products even more accessible to customers across Scotland.

Sainsbury’s customers will be able to stock up on Skinny Steak Slice sausages, block packs of traditional Steak Slice sausage, and also the increasingly popular ‘We hae meat’ Chip Shop Style Battered Pork Sausages. Products will be available in 30 Scottish stores from 25th September.

‘We hae meat’ is committed to providing consumers butcher quality recipes within the convenience of a supermarket, produced at the company’s carbon reduced manufacturing site in Girvan, South West Ayrshire;

"We are delighted to won a supply contract with Sainsbury's to bring our increasingly popular products to more customers across Scotland. We have worked closely with the Regional Buying team on this launch and are delighted to see some of our top selling products available at Sainsbury’s stores.” said Craig Chalmers, Commercial Manager at ‘‘We hae meat’’. "This partnership aligns with our mission to provide consumers with great quality products at outstanding value."

The addition of ‘We hae meat’ in Scottish stores further strengthens Sainsbury's commitment to supporting local producers, particularly those with sustainable practices at the heart of their business. ‘We hae meat’ have been on a sustainability journey since 2016, reducing carbon emissions by over 100% on site through various initiatives. The installation of solar panels last year now sees the company generate almost all of their own energy from renewable sources on site. ‘We hae meat’ were awarded the Green Family Business of the Year at the Herald Family Business Awards in 2023 and have been shortlisted for the Vibes Energy Transition Award, where winners will be announced later this year.

Products hit the shelves in selected Sainsbury’s Scottish stores from 25th September.
